Nuclearn’s primary product is a web platform that tightly integrates workflow automations, machine learning model deployment, dataset management, and analysis to solve specific problems for our customers in both the nuclear and broader utility industries. The Nuclearn.ai platform is currently installed and in use at over 33 nuclear reactors in North America, and we are actively working to expand our reach to every nuclear utility in the US and abroad, as well as to other utility sectors.
At Nuclearn, we are seeking a highly motivated and talented Jr. Full Stack Engineer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the future of our company as we expand our product offering and customer base. You must be a US citizen or permanent resident (e.g. green card holder) to be eligible for this position due to DOE Export Compliance requirements.
What you’ll be doing
As a Jr. Full Stack Engineer at Nuclearn, you will:
- Collaborate closely with our team to build and maintain our platform
- Develop and optimize high-quality, scalable code for both frontend (React) and backend (FastAPI)
- Implement and maintain containerization solutions using Docker/Podman and Kubernetes
- Contribute to architectural decisions and the overall design of our platform
- Continuously improve the performance, scalability, and security of our platform
- Participate in code reviews, brainstorming sessions, and knowledge sharing with the team
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure our platform remains at the forefront of innovation
- Minimum of 3.9 GPA
- U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder
- Core Technical Skills
Backend: Python, FastAPI/Gunicorn, Node.js, Redis, RabbitMQ, Celery
Version Control: Git/GitHub
- Familiar with
Database: PostgreSQL, SQLite
DevOps: Docker/Podman, Kubernetes
Testing: Cypress, PyTest
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn and grow within the company
- Ability to contribute independently within 6 weeks
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and an ability to think critically and creatively
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Bonus qualifications (not required, but a plus)
- Experience with machine learning and AI techniques
- Prior experience working in a startup environment
- Knowledge of the nuclear or utility industries
- Salaried position
- Mon-Fri hybrid work environment (expectation is at least 80% in office)
